The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) offers workshops for UT undergraduates to support the creation and presentation of a research poster. Undergraduate students must register in advance for these workshops. The OUR is not able to support graduate students at this time.
Workshops emphasize poster design principles, appropriate sections for a research poster, presenting your poster, understanding your audience, and evaluating a poster. This workshop, or its equivalent in your program, is required for all students presenting at the Longhorn Research Poster Session during Research Week.
What if I can’t attend a poster workshop? Please email us or call 512-471-7152 to set up an individual appointment.

Research posters are a key method of communicating research in the sciences, so we invite you to learn about creating and presenting research posters at our poster design workshop. We’ll discuss the organization and goals of poster sessions, design principles that will help you present key information on a poster in a visually appealing way, and strategies for discussing your work with poster session attendees. All students will be given access to a poster design template via Canvas.
Students who attend poster design workshops will be added to the Office of Undergraduate Research Canvas site where they can access the workshop presentation and poster templates. If you are unable to attend a workshop and would like to request access, please email us your EID or call 512-471-7152.
