The CSEF works closely with faculty across the university on identifying, developing, teaching, and assessing flagged courses. Our goal is to ensure that every student who graduates from UT Austin with an undergraduate degree has been exposed to the set of skills and experiences represented by the Flags. The CSEF supports instructors as they teach students to think critically, write cogently, engage in inquiry and discovery, examine ethical questions, and learn about other cultures that help students become critical thinkers and broadly educated citizens.
The CSEF provides support for proposing Flags and teaching flagged courses:
- Propose a Flag
- Learn about Flag criteria and interpretation
- Access teaching resources
- Learn about the learning objectives developed for each Flag
- Read the Committee’s recommendations on class size of Writing Flagged Courses
