The Blackstone LaunchPad will participate in three events during SXSW EDU. In its eighth year, the education-focused offshoot of the South by Southwest conference brings administrators, teachers, business professionals, and members of the government and non-profit sectors together from March 5-8 “with a shared goal of impacting the future of teaching and learning.”
The Blackstone LaunchPad at UT will join the national Blackstone charitable organization at the Innovation Hub for a #WeAreEntreprenuers photobooth and other ongoing activities on March 6 and 7. On Wednesday, March 7, at 11:30 a.m., Blackstone and startup accelerator Techstars will host a panel discussion on student entrepreneurship called From Dormroom to Boardroom. Both events will be held in Salon F of the Hilton hotel in downtown Austin. A SXSW badge or Guest Pass is required to attend both events.
The Blackstone LaunchPad will also host a pitch competition for students at Main Street Hub on March 7 from 6-8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public and an RSVP is required.
“SXSW EDU is an excellent opportunity for the Blackstone LaunchPad to share what’s been happening on campus with the greater Austin entrepreneurial community,” said Mitch Jacobson, executive director of the Blackstone LaunchPad at UT. “It should serve up some stimulating conversations and be a lot of fun.”
