A Robust, Stretchable, e-Tattoo for Long-Term sEMG Monitoring

Surface electromyography (sEMG) is a non invasive procedure which measures the electrical activity of groups of muscles. sEMG is used to diagnose neuromuscular disorders, monitor muscular rehabilitation progress, and evaluate muscular function in occupational and sports programs [1]. Gel electrodes are used most commonly in sEMG, however the chemical gel component used to adhere the electrode can damage the skin over an extended period of time. To remove the chemical component, dry electrodes are used. However, dry electrodes produce a large amount of noise and motion artifact.
