I am a Research Project Manager for The University of Texas Medical Branch Behavioral Health and Research where I conduct the evaluation of the Causeway Galveston project. I also earned an MPH in Epidemiology from the UT Health Science Center at Houston.

Discuss your general career path since graduating from UT.

Since graduating from UT, I have pursued research interests to gain more experience in the research field. I am currently a Research Project Manager for UTMB working on the Causeway Galveston project in Galveston, Texas.

How did your BDP experience influence your career path and interests?

My BDP experience heavily influenced me to pursue more of a public health focus for both my education and career. I decided to get my Master’s in Public Health after completing my BDP certificate and I am currently working in the Public Health research field.

What do you value most about your BDP experience?

I value the skills that I have gained while completing my BDP. The skills that I learned through the program are ones that I still utilize today.

In what ways did an interdisciplinary education prepare you for what you are currently doing?

Interdisciplinary education prepared me for my current job by teaching me to understand various perspectives for approaching problems and situations. My current job utilizes a collaborative network of professionals and organizations which allows me to incorporate my interdisciplinary education.
