Financial Support & Scholarships

You may have financial need when attending college while supporting dependents. The Cost of Attendance Appeal and The University of Texas at Austin scholarships can help provide financial support.

Financial Aid

Your financial aid package is able to consider certain child care costs if you submit a Financial Aid Appeal. The Cost of Attendance Appeal form requests a reevaluation of your cost of attendance and may increase your maximum financial aid eligibility through additional grants, scholarships, or loans.

Scholarships

UT offers scholarships to both incoming and current students. The deadline to apply for these scholarships is Dec. 1 for incoming students and March 15 for continuing and transfer students. Many colleges, schools, and departments also award their own scholarships to incoming and continuing students.

UT Austin’s Senate of College Councils awards two $500 scholarships to nontraditional students, which includes students who are parents. Students must have attended UT Austin for at least two semesters and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
