If you interested in transferring to UT Austin, the first stop is to complete an ApplyTexas application. Visit UT Austin’s admissions page to see deadlines and requirements to apply. For additional assistance in applying, review resources for transfer students which include tools to search for transfer course equivalencies, estimate how credits will apply to UT Austin degrees, and identify common transfer credit issues.
Every year thousands of students are admitted into UT Austin’s Coordinated Admission Program. The CAP program allows students to complete their first year of undergraduate studies at another UT System university and transfer to UT Austin at the beginning of their sophomore year. Prospective and current CAP students should gain a full understanding of program requirements to prepare for a successful transition to UT Austin.
Transfer students and their families are welcome to attend a counselor-led presentation and a student-led tour of the campus. The Prospective Student Campus Tours are geared toward the students interested in transferring into UT Austin. This is a great opportunity for students and families to learn about the Forty Acres and all it has to offer.
If you are interested in on-campus housing, please note that the fall housing application opens Aug. 1 the year prior to your first semester. The earlier you apply for housing, the more likely you are to receive a housing contract and your top preferences.
