"It can be really scary being in a completely new and unfamiliar environment when you first transfer, but don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and get involved in something as soon as you get to campus!"

Hometown: McKinney, Texas
Institution you transferred from: The University of Arkansas
Favorite place to study on campus: The Life Science Library
Favorite place to eat in Austin: Home Slice
Hobbies: Netflix, crafting, decorating, hanging out with friends
Interesting fact about yourself: I am a certified scuba diver!

Why did you become a mentor?
I became a mentor so that I could help incoming transfer students adjust to their new lives on the Forty Acres. As a transfer student myself, I knew from personal experience how hard it was to get acclimated to a new university, so I wanted to become a mentor to hopefully make that process easier for other transfers!

Piece of advice to future transfer students:
It can be really scary being in a completely new and unfamiliar environment when you first transfer, but don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and get involved in something as soon as you get to campus!

Best college memory so far: Attending my first football game as a UT student

Favorite thing about UT: My favorite thing about UT is the Longhorn community. I love that we have that community not only here on campus, but also out in the real world!

Favorite thing about Austin: I love the diversity of the city — there is always something new to experience.

Favorite class you have taken at UT: Physiological Basis of Conditioning

Plans after graduation: Hopefully attend PA school!
