"Do not buy into fallacy that transfers took the easy route to get into UT."

Hometown: Frisco, Texas
Institution you transferred from: Southern Methodist University (SMU)
Favorite place to study on campus: Alumni Center and FAC
Favorite place to eat in Austin: Lucky Robot on SoCo, Fricano’s Deli, and Ramen Tatsu-ya
Hobbies: Listening to podcasts, petting dogs, drinking too much coffee, getting lots of sleep
Interesting fact about yourself: My favorite food is Flamin’ Hot Cheetos!

Why did you become a mentor?
I feel that transfer students deserve so much more attention than they are given, so I wanted to have the opportunity to form one-on-one relationships with incoming transfers and make them feel as welcome and comfortable at UT as possible!

Piece of advice to future transfer students:
Do not buy into fallacy that transfers took the easy route to get into UT. Be proud of the way you got here – whether it’s from the military, community college, or another country. Your experiences and paths are so valuable, and they make this school so much better!

Best college memory so far: Impromptu exploring (read: getting lost) with friends!

Favorite thing about UT: The undeniable energy on campus!

Favorite thing about Austin: So, so, so many opportunities to get coffee at cute places!

Favorite class you have taken at UT: Practicum in Conflict Mediation (CMS 371K)

Plans after graduation: Grad school? Corporate America? Stay tuned.
