Shelley Barineau

Shelley Barineau Native Texan and Houstonian Shelley Barineau graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and obtained a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and wrote for the law review. After clerking on the Texas Supreme Court in 1996, Shelley practiced law at Andrews & Kurth, L.L.P. until leaving to raise her growing family.

As a member of the Advisory Board Executive Committee at Texas Children’s Hospital Cancer Center (TCCC), her active involvement includes co-chairing the TCCC major events committee and leading the foundation and formation of a TCCC support charity, DecMyRoom. Currently, she directs TCCC’s psycho-social initiatives.

At Episcopal High School (EHS), Shelley serves on the Board of Trustees and on the construction committee overseeing implementation of the master plan building campaign. Additionally, she volunteers extensively in other programs at EHS and St. Francis Episcopal Day School.

Through her service as a Houston Museum of Natural Science Trustee and as a member of the Junior League of Houston, Shelley coordinated common goals of the two institutions to interface outreach, volunteers and major gifts. Committed to advancing the museum’s community mission, she taught science classes at Our Lady of Guadalupe School in Houston’s Second Ward for 13 years.

Married almost 25 years, Shelley and her husband Newt reside in Houston, Texas, with their four children: Blake, Will, Blair, and Pierce.
