Finding a Major
I started out as a geology major but didn’t know at all what I wanted to do. Through being in UGS I was able to relax and explore my interests through general classes. There were just so many options, and I feel like I literally looked into every other major before I realized that music is what I have always loved. Then, through UT, I discovered that there was a major like music business out there. I will be transferring to Belmont University to pursue a degree in music business next fall.
After graduation, I want to work for a record company in Nashville. I would love to be an agent or producer for a Christian artist.
Most Rewarding Class
Italian 601 with Ettore Marchetti. He’s the best professor I have ever had, and I loved the small community of a language class. It was a great class, and I loved learning the language.

How to be a Successful Student at UT
Work hard but relax. Grades are not everything, and it is more important to find what you love and do it. Do everything with excellence.
UT women’s chorus and YoungLife. I did Ignite my freshman year too.
UGS Experience and Advice for Undecided Students
Being in UGS allowed me to take general classes and explore multiple subjects before finding my major. It helped me to decipher what I liked and what I didn’t like. I was able to take business foundations classes that helped me discover my interest in business.
My advice for UGS students is that it’s ok to be undeclared. If you don’t know what you want to do yet, that’s ok. Enjoy the opportunity to take the classes you want and discover what you really love.
