During summer orientation you will meet with your academic advisor to discuss classes and register for classes.

Find a Signature Course topic that interests you. All first-year students are required to take a UGS 302 or 303 course during their first year in residence at UT.

Research the classes required to apply to your majors of interest.

Track your progress on the 42-credit-hour core curriculum, required for all majors.

Find classes that count for the degree plans of your majors of interest.

Look up course information using the online course schedule.

Have a TSI bar on your Registration Information Sheet Contact the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) office in order to determine what is required before you will be able to register for classes.

Placement Exams, Credit-by-Exam, & Transfer Credit

View acceptable cut scores for course credit from AP, IB, or CLEP exams. Learn about credit-by-exam.

Take placement exams if necessary. Learn about foreign language placement exams. Learn about the ALEKS tests required for mathematics and chemistry courses.

Use the Automated Transfer Equivalency System to find out which classes at other Texas public institutions will directly transfer to UT. Learn more about transfer credit and dual credit.
