Hertz

The Fannie & John Hertz Foundation supports PhD students in the applied physical and biological sciences, mathematics, and engineering with full tuition equivalent for up to five years as well as a $34,000 per academic year stipend. Please see the website for more details.

Conditions of Eligibility

  • You must be a citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
  • You must be a student in applied physical and biological sciences, mathematics, or engineering.
  • You are willing to morally commit your skills to the U.S. in a time of national emergency.
  • You have exceptional intelligence and creativity, an excellent technical education (evidenced in rec letters and transcripts as well as an interview), extraordinary accomplishments or character conducive to high attainment as a technical professional, appropriate moral and ethical values, and an ability to leverage the Hertz to make a difference in your graduate research.
