Student Organization Honored for Contributions to Community

A student organization sponsored by the Transfer-Year Experience office was awarded Best Academic/Departmental Organization at the 12th annual Dean of Student’s Evening of the Stars ceremony. In just their second year, Texas Transfer Students (TTS) was honored alongside two well-established finalists, Natural Sciences Council and Student Engineering Council. TTS also received the Pillars of the Forty Acres Distinguished Status in the categories of Leadership, Individual Opportunity, and Responsibility, and the group was a finalist for Most Outstanding Organization. The Evening of Stars ceremony is held every year to recognize outstanding student organizations and student leaders from across the Forty Acres.

“Winning the award for Best Academic Organization really made me even more proud of TTS and all that it has accomplished in its short two years on campus,” said Nyrie Kasparian, president of Texas Transfer Students. “Building on this recognition, I hope this award strengthens our recognition and our role in furthering the academic success of transfer students at UT.”
