On Saturday, April 6, The University of Texas at Austin celebrated its 71st annual Honors Day Ceremony, where six students from the School of Undergraduate Studies (UGS) were recognized for their outstanding academic achievement.

“UGS students who qualify while exploring major and career options deserve particular recognition,” said Larry Abraham, associate dean for the School of Undergraduate Studies. “I am especially proud of the six UGS students who earned this distinction this year”

Nathan Blank and Julian Perry were recognized as Distinguished College Scholars, while four additional UGS students were recognized as College Scholars:

  • Priscilla Acevedo
  • Alex Ayala
  • Kyle Baney
  • Sergio Hernandez

Each honored student meets a set of rigorous standards based on grade point average and hours completed to become a College Scholar or Distinguished College Scholar.
