The annual Bridging Disciplines Program Certificate Ceremony, honoring spring and summer graduates, was held May 23, 2019. Over 170 students completed a BDP certificate in spring and an additional 36 are planning to complete a certificate this summer, the largest-ever graduating class for the BDPs.

The ceremony featured remarks from the dean of the School of Undergraduate Studies, Brent Iverson, and BDP Director, Jeanette Herman. Children & Society BDP Faculty Panel member Robert Crosnoe spoke about the value of interdisciplinary education. Vaishali Jayaraman, graduating with BDP certificates in Digital Arts & Media and Environment & Sustainability, shared how her experiences with the BDPs shaped her time at UT. Graduates walked across the stage to receive their certificates and then celebrated their accomplishments with their families and BDP faculty and staff.
