Every year, the Bridging Disciplines Programs (BDPs) host an in-person poster session that allows students to share their research, internship, and creative project experiences and get feedback from faculty, staff, and other students. This year, once it was clear that an in-person poster session would not be possible, the program began looking into ways of giving students an opportunity to share their impressive research and internship experiences virtually.

With this spring’s transition to online coursework, student leaders in the Undergraduate Studies Council (UGSC) had to adapt existing plans for the socials, meetings, and elections that support the student body. Congratulations to the 2020 Bridging Disciplines Programs (BDPs) graduates! We are so proud of the graduating seniors from the Class of 2020 and how far they’ve come in their BDP journeys. Each and every one of these graduates exemplifies what it looks like to be a hardworking, talented, and interdisciplinary student. We are so excited to see what they do next and look forward to hosting an in-person graduation ceremony when it is safe to do so.
The Office of Undergraduate Research hosted the annual Longhorn Research Poster Session as an online event April 16-17 during Research Week. Students presented more than 110 research posters on interdisciplinary topics ranging from history to human development to molecular biology. For the transition to a virtual event, presenters uploaded images of their posters, with some also providing supporting materials such as audio descriptions and videos.
