LinkedIn | Richard is the director of strategic & global initiatives at the Austin Technology Incubator (ATI). In addition, he serves as faculty in the McCombs School of Business for Global Connections classes focused on entrepreneurship and sustainability. The class connects students with entrepreneurs at Climate Innovation Centers (CICs) in Africa and around the world, building off his prior work with the World Bank Climate Technology Program.
Amato founded the ATI Clean Energy Incubator in 2001 and in 2006 he co-founded Venti Energy, a renewable development company dedicated to increasing the supply of clean and reliable energy. He has been or is a current board member of CEI, CEA, CEDC, RMC, TXROSE, TXSES, TREIA, and the Wind Coalition. Richard has been invited to speak at conferences around the world including India, Malaysia, Denmark, Norway, Japan, Italy, and Kazakhstan. He received an MBA in entrepreneurship and management from UT Austin and a BS in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M.
