LinkedIn | Calvin is a design strategist by profession and has held several executive positions with global corporations in entertainment, marketing, and technology. His latest ventures have involved investors, foreign dignitaries, and entrepreneurs from Los Angeles, the UK, Israel, Africa, and Switzerland, where he consulted on digital product design, user insights, and innovation strategy. Calvin and his team from LCi were responsible for the arrangement of supermodel and actress Naomi Campbell receiving the International Women’s Day award from Shimon Peres in March of 2016 before his passing in September of that year. Mr. Mays was also instrumental in the development of the Perugia International Film Festival in Italy, where Stratus Media Group partnered with famed film director Martin Scorsese and technology partners to bring the festival to life.
Calvin earned his BA in rhetorical criticism from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, studied at Stanford’s d.school, and earned his MBA in design strategy from San Francisco’s California College of the Arts. He has also served as a judge for the Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative pitch presentation, in conjunction with The University of Texas and the US State Department. His philosophy on innovation starts with great insights, and the ability to solve user problems through process.
