Blackstone LaunchPad at UT Austin
Blackstone LaunchPad is a program that helps students of all backgrounds navigate the UT entrepreneurship ecosystem.
Think of us as the Google Maps for everything entrepreneurship on campus and in Austin.
What services do we provide?
- We educate students on the resources available to them on campus.
- We provide physical space for coworking and small events (first floor of the Flawn Academic Center).
- We connect students to mentors from diverse industries to provide insights on student ventures – from ideation to scale – and to talk about their own entrepreneurial journeys.
- We provide access to Blackstone-specific opportunities through partners such as Techstars (a worldwide network that helps entrepreneurs succeed).
Why do we exist?
We believe that entrepreneurship is for everyone.
Our program allows students to explore entrepreneurship at their own pace while creating an inclusive cross-disciplinary environment that encourages them to make an impact through entrepreneurship and innovation.
Even if students supported by our program do not go onto starting their own companies, they will be better prepared to enter the modern workforce with an entrepreneurial mindset.
Why are we called the Blackstone LaunchPad at UT?
The Blackstone LaunchPads powered by Techstars are campus-based entrepreneurship programs developed as part of the Blackstone Charitable Foundation’s Entrepreneurship Initiative and is powered by Techstars, the worldwide network that helps entrepreneurs succeed.
The Blackstone LaunchPad at UT was founded in 2017, enabled by a generous grant from the Blackstone Charitable Foundation.
