“My Connecting Experience has reaffirmed my interest in working in the nonprofit sector in the speech language therapy field.”

Please describe your project and how you came up with the idea.
My major is communication sciences and disorders, and I am interested in working in the nonprofit sector. I wanted to do a research project that combined my interests and would allow me to present my findings to others in order to bring awareness to the importance of both fields.

What has been the most rewarding aspect of your Connecting Experience?
I was able to work with Dr. Nericcio, who is a person that I consider a role model. We come from similar backgrounds, and I aspire to help students and the community in the way she does. She pushed me along through my Connecting Experience and I was able to learn so much about my field and helping the community with her motivation.

In what ways has this Connecting Experience shaped your plans for the future?
My Connecting Experience has reaffirmed my interest in working in the nonprofit sector in the speech language therapy field.
