What attracted you to the Bridging Disciplines Programs?

I wanted to increase my knowledge of music, film, and every other aspect of the entertainment industry. Having such a profound interest in Pop Cultures, I felt the BDPs could provide a great foundation for just that.

How have the BDPs helped shape or influence your plans for the future?

My BDP has allowed me to focus my career goals towards working in the entertainment industry. Pop culture has been something I always had an interest in, and I love being able to earn credit for something I love doing. Through my connecting experiences, I have discovered that film publicity is an occupation I can see myself doing in the future.

What were the highlights of your connecting experience and what did you learn from it?

One of the greatest moments of my internship at Fox Searchlight Pictures was meeting the director and cast of Slumdog Millionaire and holding the Oscar for Best Picture! It was an unbelievable experience. I had been working on the awards campaign for the film in Los Angeles. One other memorable moment was interviewing Alexis Bledel and Zach Gilford at the LA Teen Press Day for the film Post Grad. I wrote an article about the interview and it is now featured on the film’s mini-website on Teen.

My connecting experience gave me confidence in my work abilities. In addition, I was able to find a career that combines both my interests of communication and the entertainment industry.
