“Everything I do is incredibly interdisciplinary; the importance of valuing a variety of skill sets can not be understated.”

Discuss your general career path since graduating from UT.

The summer after I graduated I worked for a mining company in their water resource department and helped develop plans to properly manage water that comes into contact with potential contaminants. I currently am doing a joint masters degree in Boston in engineering and policy.

How did your BDP experience influence your career path and interests?

BDP gave me the space and resources to explore my interests in environmental stewardship and allowed me to realize this is exactly what I want to be doing!

What do you value most about your BDP experience?

The most valuable thing was getting course credit and support for my interests that my degree plan did not allow for.

In what ways did an interdisciplinary education prepare you for what you are currently doing?

Everything I do is incredibly interdisciplinary; the importance of valuing a variety of skill sets can not be understated.
