Award for Distinction in Teaching

The Alpha of Texas chapter seeks nominations for its Award for Distinction in Teaching, which carries an honorarium as well as a certificate. You, as an elected member of the chapter, are invited to nominate a particularly impressive professor. Perhaps this professor taught an especially memorable course, or is a distinctively committed and skilled educator. Perhaps he or she had a special impact on your educational experience, or on your career and life. The chapter invites you to nominate someone who inspired you and whom you admire with a letter to the teaching award committee making your case.

Making a nomination for such an award is an ideal expression of your gratitude to that person, and recognition of his or her commitment to teaching. Faculty members of any rank (including lecturers and emeriti faculty) are eligible. Your nominee need not be a Phi Beta Kappa member. The recipient will be selected by a committee of current undergraduates at UT Austin who have been elected as members of the Alpha of Texas chapter.

Please use the online nomination form.
