In addition to taking courses together and participating in a weekly seminar, Residential FIGs (ResFIGs) offer incoming students the unique opportunity to live together as a community of peers.
- living in Whitis Court, home of afternoon frisbee, patio cook-outs, Rock Band tournaments and 80s dance parties
- sharing courses with a small group of your neighbors, so you can borrow notes, meet for study sessions and actually know who’s sitting next to you in class
- hanging out with upperclassmen who want to show you the ropes and help you successfully transition into college
- getting involved in Austin through community service opportunities and social events
The Residential FIG program offers spacious rooms with large closets and great amenities including community kitchens, TV and study lounges, laundry facilities, and much more. Rooms have movable furniture and bunkable beds.
Regardless of major, all freshmen entering UT Austin in the fall semester are eligible to join a Residential FIG. We have a wide variety of academic disciplines represented in our program, and we strive to provide ResFIGs that will serve the needs of students in all studies. Unfortunately, we cannot accept students who are entering the university in the spring.
