A Word from BDP Alumni

This spring, six BDP alumni returned to the Forty Acres to tell us how they got hooked on the BDP experience. Reflecting from the distance of one to six years beyond their graduation, these alumni spoke of the value of interdisciplinary coursework and experiential learning, two key components of the BDPs. Two BDP Alumni Awarded Fulbright Grants

Two of the BDPs’ newest alumni, May 2015 graduates Jesse Crandell and Bianca Patel, received prestigious Fulbright grants to pursue cross-cultural exchange, scholarship, and work in the coming year. Jesse will travel to Brazil to conduct research with Brazilian colleagues, and Bianca is off to Malaysia to teach English. Read more.

Children & Society BDP Student Investigates Health Disparities in Central Texas

May graduate Christine Edomwande, who earned a Children & Society BDP certificate, spent her spring semester researching the prevalence of childhood asthma in urban versus rural environments. As a result, Christine’s career goals have taken on a sharper focus—she still plans to become a pediatrician, but also hopes to tackle minority health disparities. Read more.

Digital Arts & Media BDP Student Explores the Music Industry

Public relations major Kat Trujillo immersed herself in the Austin music scene this spring as a concert marketing intern with C3 Presents. Through her internship, Kat developed new strengths in copywriting and affirmed her desire to pursue a career as a music promoter. Kat is pursuing a BDP certificate in Digital Arts & Media. Read more.
