BDP Students Go to Washington
Five BDP students are studying public policy and pursuing full-time internships in Washington, D.C., this fall through the Archer Fellowship Program. As Archer Fellows, these students have the unique opportunity to learn about policy firsthand, while exploring the rich culture and history of the nation’s capital. Read more.
Alumna’s Work Aids in the Classroom
In the summer of 2012, Nidhi Reddy—then an undergraduate in the Digital Arts & Media BDP—created an animated adaptation of The Yellow Wallpaper for her BDP Connecting Experience. Three years later, this animation is now being used as a teaching tool in a local high school AP English class. Read more and watch the short film.
BDP Student Researches Value of Yoga for Homeless
Social work major Adam Benden spent his summer exploring the potential benefits of yoga for people experiencing homelessness. His research has inspired him to develop a yoga teaching model that removes barriers to access based upon race or socioeconomic status. Adam is earning a BDP certificate in Social Inequality, Health & Policy. Read more.
BDP Student Explores Power of Social Business in India
Senior Camila Olmedo-Mendez, a student in the Social Entrepreneurship & Non-profits BDP, traveled to Bangladesh this summer for an internship with the Yunus Centre. As an intern, Camila got hands-on experience with the operation of social businesses in India, and she had the opportunity to meet Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus. Read more.
